Gasim accepts loss of JSC seat

Presidential Candidate of Jumhooree Party (JP) Gasim Ibrahim has accepted that his seat at the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has become vacant.

Speaking at a press conference held by JP today, Gasim said that this has now been brought to the attention of the parliament.

Article 10 (d) of the JSC Act states that the seat of a member of JSC shall be deemed vacant in the event that the member contests for a political post elected under the Constitution or a Law.

Gasim filed his candidacy to the Elections Commission for the presidential election last Monday.
