MDP Protest continues

MDP is continuing their protest for the second night in a row at the Tsunami Monument area. The protestors demands are the same, a date for an early election election.

21:48 - Cooking and eating as well as entertainment activities are organized at the protesting area while MDP parliamentary group members, Councillors and leaders are addressing to the crowd.

22:00 - Former president Nasheed just joined the protest.

22:17 - Noonu Kendhikulhudhoo Dhaairaa MP Ahmed Eesa is addressing the protestors, his speech is based on the 7th February incident.

22:20 - MP Ahmed Eesa calls out the civilians of the country to go for a protest known as the "Madhanee bas neyhun"

23:24 - Former governments Tourism Minister Dr. Mariyam Zulfa is speaking right now.

23:25 - Dr. Mariyam Zulfa: Foreign Investors call me and give their support to president Nasheed. We have achieved the investment confidence. Investors were knocking at my door.

23:27 - Dr. Mariyam Zulfa: There is no project that is non profitable. Dr Waheed will never be able to come up to the level of president Nasheed. I have experienced his work. He is not eligible for the work. We demand an early election.

23:39 - Dr. Mariyam Zulfa: We were at presidents office on 7th February. President Nasheed met us (the cabinet members) in a room which we did not ever see in the office. He was surrounded by MNDP and Police officers. I told him not to give up that day, and he said he does not want to rule with force. That day I saw the present Defense Minister and Police commissioner at the presidents office. How can they enter to president office? Dr Waheed was not seen at the office that day. Waheed will not be able to rule like president Nasheed. In a cabinet meeting Waheed has said that he will not resign. He did not answer any questions of the cabinet members. He said that he does not want to share the talk he had with the other parties. I am calling out for you (Dr. Waheed) to step down!

23:47 - MP Gahdhoo Zahir: I have given it a lot of thought and did not figure out how Dr.Waheed took his oath as the president. I figured out it really is a coup. Waheed.. people voted for MDP. When MDP government is taken away Vice president will not be there. We do not have to request for a election, in fact it is a must for them to give us a date for election. Dr. Waheed and Gasim Ibrahim are involved in the coup. I will not forgive him.

23:47 - MP Gahdhoo Zahir: When all this happened, where was Supreme Court? Where is Human rights? I am surprised! Can Police beat the people saying they are tired? This is not something that is acceptable. I call out to president Dr. Waheed to resign and hand over the post to the President of People's Majlis. You have to step down! You have no right to be the president. I feel sorry that he does not hear our voices. He should be able to see whats happening here. I shout out to investigate this coup and to punish the MNDF and Police officers who were involved. Also call out to released the MDP members who are arrested. They do not have the right to arrest the MDP members!

00:50 - Two MNDF and two Police officers who resigned on 7th February has just been introduced in stage by Former Housing Minister Mohamed Aslam. The protestors have given their salute to this four officers. They are Staff Sargent Niyaz who has done Masters of Science, Police Service Sargent Imran who completed his Masters in Finance, following is MNDF Fire and Rescue Lance Corporal and Staff Sargent Shafraz.

After the introduction of this four officers, Aslam said that they expect all those who wear uniform to be honorable people. And within Police and MNDF yesterday and even today there are people who loves this country just like this four officers.

00:51 - Former Youth Minister Hassan Lathyf and Former Defense Minister who later became the National Security Adviser Ameen Faisal and Former Housing Minister Aslam requested not to say abusive words to Police and MNDF officers specially the most quoted word that is being used right now "Money Money, Yes Sir" and in exchange to say "Money Money, No Sir" here after. It also seems that more officers will be joining them.
