Jumhoory Party has said that a total of 399 candidates from across the country will participate in it’s national party conference, scheduled to begin tonight.
Speaking at a press conference in JP’s main office today, the party’s spokesperson for the national conference, Mohamed Haleem said that representatives of different party wings are now arriving in the capital Male’.
Haleem said that representatives from 35 wings will participate in the congress and that about 200 wings were barred from the congress as they could not be registered at the Elections Commission.
Scheduled to start tonight, this is the party’s second national party conference and will see the elections for party leader and deputy leader posts.
Haleem said that approximately 40 amendments will also be proposed to the party’s regulations during the two day congress.
