Luxury resorts lower prices as summer arrives in Europe

High end resorts in the Maldives have lowered their prices as it is summertime in Europe.

Several foreign media sites have cited DirectRooms.com and said that rooms are available at lower prices at luxury resorts in the Maldives for tourists who are in search of white beaches and underwater beauty.

They said that summertime is a perfect option for tourists to visit the Maldives with their families.

Summertime in Europe is the ‘low season’ in the Maldives, and several luxury resorts offer discounts during this period. Some resorts have reported an increase in tourist arrivals from China and Europe as a result of the reduction in prices.

Statistics show that tourist arrivals increased by 25 percent in May 2013.

Tourism Ministry has said that 79,426 tourists visited the Maldives in May 2013.
