Nasheed arrives in Malaysia

Presidential Candidate of Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP), former President Mohamed Nasheed has arrived in Malaysia.

Former Chairperson of MDP, MP Mariya Didi said on twitter that Nasheed arrived in Malaysia last night.

According to the MDP website, several campaign activities will take place during Nasheed’s two-day visit to Malaysia.

Nasheed will meet Maldivian families and students living in Malaysia this afternoon, and tomorrow, MDP will hold a break-fast function under ‘Ehburun’ campaign for Maldivians living in Malaysia.

Nasheed travelled to Malaysia after spending several days in Sri Lanka to obtain visa to Saudi Arabia to go for Umra. MDP has not stated whether Nasheed travelled to Malaysia following the cancellation of the Umra trip.
