The Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) has said that it collected MVR 999.4 million as revenue for June 2013.
MIRA said in its Monthly Revenue Collection Report for June 2013 published today that its Total Revenue Collection was 65.2 percent higher than the amount forecast for June 2013.
Total Revenue Collection for June 2013 also increased by 72.6 percent compared to June 2012. MIRA’s Total Revenue Collection for June 2012 was MVR 579 million.
Last month, MIRA’s US Dollar Revenue was $34.8 million.
In June 2013, MIRA collected most revenue from Business Profit Tax, which was MVR 268.6 million, which is a 28 percent increase compared to the corresponding period in 2012.
The second largest contributor to MIRA’s revenue in June 2013 was Tourism Land Rent, which was MVR 233.7 million, which is a 23 percent increase compared to the corresponding period in 2012.
The third largest contributor to MIRA’s revenue in June 2013 was Goods and Services Tax (GST), which was MVR 228 million, which is a 22 percent increase compared to the corresponding period in 2012.
