President appoints Latheefa Gasim to JSC

President Dr Mohamed Waheed has appointed Latheefa Gasim to the Judicial Service Commission (JSC), as the member in the commission appointed by the president.

Latheefa previously held the post of Spokesperson of the Department of Judicial Administration.

President Waheed presented the letter of appointment to Latheefa Gasim this afternoon at a ceremony held at the President’s Office.

Before the presentation of the letter of appointment, Latheefa Gasim took the oath of membership of JSC. The oath was administered by Supreme Court Judge Abdullah Areef.

Latheefa Gasim’s predecessor, Mohamed Saleem (Reynis Saleem) was dismissed from the post of JSC member recently following the commencement of an investigation involving him by the police.
