The President’s Office has said that President Dr Mohamed Waheed Hassan Manik’s highest priority at the moment is to restore peace in the society and to create a safe environment for the Maldivian people.

The President’s Office said today that now is the time for Maldivians to exercise patience, uphold the constitution, keep their actions within the limits of the law and work with new energy and hope. They said that it is the President’s current priority to restore peace and create a safe environment for the Maldivian people.

They also said that work is underway to set up a Cabinet in which all political parties are represented, and assured that government services will not be interrupted in the meantime.
