Eleven youths have been arrested on suspicion of stabbing four people in incidents that took place between 16 and 18 May in Male’.
They were arrested at around 20:30 during a police operation, from the tenth floor of Kalaas shop building on Majeedee Magu.
The police have not revealed any information on the suspects.
The people arrested tonight included a suspect sought by the police regarding a series of assault incidents.
Police said that information regarding tonight’s arrests will be given to media later.
Including the eleven arrests, the number of people arrested in relation to the recent stabbings has reached fifteen. Four people were arrested last week.
The suspects arrested in relation to the stabbing of Mohamed Shaifan, who was recently acquitted by the Criminal Court after being tried for the murder of Ali Shifan, are Mohamed Kinaanath Ahmed, 28, of H. Lobby; Ahmed Shirhan Shameem, 21, of Zaheeramanzil of Meemu Kolhufushi; Assad Ibrahim Rasheed, 18, of Male’ Dhaftharu; and Ihsaanuddeen Rasheed, 30, of G. Masodige.
