An MAT seaplane falls into sea while landing

A Maldivian Air Taxi (MAT) flight has fallen into sea while landing. The flight was bound for Male’ from a resort.

The 13 people onboard survived uninjured.

Police said that they have received information regarding this accident, and that they are investigating it.

Director General of Civil Aviation Department Hussain Jaleel said today that the aircraft fell into sea while it was about to land. The cause for this accident is not yet known.

He said that none of the nine passengers and three crew personnel onboard sustained any injuries.
