Court gives detention period of five days for Azlif

The Criminal Court has given a detention period of five days for MNDF Officer Azlif Raoof, arrested last night in relation to the murder of former Ungoofaaru MP Dr Afrasheem Ali.

Media Official of Criminal Court Ahmed Mohamed Manik said tonight that Azlif Raoof of H. Hilton is being accused of terrorism, intimidation, gang crimes, operation of gangs, and using gangs to plan to commit crimes. Manik said the court, earlier tonight, considered the suspicions against Azlif and gave a detention period of five days.

Hussain Humaam Ahmed of H. Lobby, another suspect in the Afrasheem murder case, said in court yesterday that the murder of Dr Afrasheem was planned by Azlif.

Humaam said that Azlif bribes young people to commit crimes, and that Azlif was the recipient of the MVR 1 million out of the MVR 4 million reward promised for killing Dr Afrasheem.
