Eighty percent of cases have been completed: JSC

The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has said that 80 percent of cases submitted to the commission by various groups have been completed.

JSC said that it had held meetings three times a week following the rise in the number of cases submitted to the commission; however, now that 80 percent of the cases had been completed, it would reduce the frequency of its meetings.

The commission will now meet once a week.

JSC said that 9 percent of the cases are being assessed by their legal officer, while 11 percent of the cases are at the investigation stage.

JSC further said that a large number of cases are regarding delays in court proceedings, and highlighted that these cases cannot be investigated by the commission.

JSC noted that it can only investigate cases related to ethical issues of judges.
