Commissioner of Police Abdullah Riyaz has said that two people related to the Artur brothers case have handed themselves in to the police yesterday evening. The police had made an announcement in search of three people related to the Artur brothers case, two Maldivians and one French person.
Riyaz told Sun Online tonight that the two people who handed themselves in are the French person Sargasayan, who is a shareholder of the company established by the Artur brothers in the Maldives “Artur Brothers World Connection”; and a Maldivian Ahmed Nishan, who is suspected of having links with the Artur brothers.
Riyaz said that both men are under arrest.
The man who remains at large in relation to this case is Ahmed Vishaal of H. Ever Chance.
Riyaz said that both arrested people were taken to court today, and the court had given them an arrest period of three days.
He said that he did not know where they were when they were hiding from the police, and also did not know if the French person had a valid Maldivian visa.
Riyaz said that search efforts are ongoing for the remaining suspect, and investigations are under way regarding the two suspects under arrest.
