A ferry carrying 48 passengers has run aground on a sand bank near the entrance to the Hulhumale’ lagoon.
Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) said that their Coast Guard Squadron for Male' area attended the scene.
Named Hawks Ruby, the ferry ran aground while trying to enter the Hulhumale’ lagoon.
MNDF said that none of the passengers were hurt during the incident and that they are currently facilitating for the passengers to reach Hulhumale’.
Coast Guard is also assisting in relocating the ferry back to sea.
