The police have called for applications to join the first ever reserve force or special constabulary force in the Maldives.
The police said that a session will be held to provide information on applying to join the force at Iskandar Koshi on 8 May at 20:30, and that interested candidates are welcome to submit applications until 16:00 on 16 May.
The police said that applicants should be Maldivian citizens aged between 18 and 35 who have completed grade 10. Men who wish to join the force must be 5 ft 3 inches tall, while women should be 5 ft tall.
“The candidates recruited to the police reserve force must complete the police basic training. Those who pass the training will be given a certificate to indicate that they have taken this training and will be required to take the police oath. Those trained in this manner shall only undertake tasks which are assigned to them. They will be given the opportunity to permanently join the police force in the event that more people need to be recruited to vacant police posts.”
