Yameen to announce a running mate tomorrow night

Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) has said that the party’s presidential candidate Abdulla Yameen will announce his running mate during the event scheduled for tomorrow night.

The party’s Spokesperson MP Ahmed Mahlouf said today that he party’s council has unanimously shown their support to the chosen running mate, during the party’s council meeting that was held today.

He said that the council considered the person’s education, criminal record, and capability to act as a vice president, before giving their approval.

Five people have announced their interest to compete in the president election, scheduled for September this year. None of them have yet announced a running mate.
