Man who fell into sea in accident dies

The Guraidhoo Council has said that the man who fell into the sea in the accident wherein a speedboat and a dhoni collided near Kandooma Resort, was dead when found.

Guraidhoo Council President Hussain Yameen told Sun Online tonight that the accident victim was Ali Abdullah, 46, of Lainoofaru in Guraidhoo.

Hussain Yameen said that funeral arrangements are under way for Ali Abdullah.

Sun Online understands that Ali Abdullah had deep injuries on his face and chest when he was found.

Ali Abdullah leaves behind a wife and a 13-year-old daughter.

The police said that the accident took place when a water-sport speedboat of the resort collided with a fishing boat at around 20:00 near the Kandooma Resort channel, and the person who fell into the sea belonged to the fishing boat.
