The court has postponed delivering the verdict against the minor charged by the State with providing a false statement during the investigation of the murder of Dr Afrasheem Ali.
An official of the Juvenile Court said that the session of the trial scheduled for today for delivering the verdict was cancelled due to failure by the defence lawyer to be present in court.
The Juvenile Court said that the verdict will be delivered at a session scheduled for 12 May.
The State has said that it does not wish to present evidence, as the minor had confessed to giving a false statement.
The Commissioner of Police said that the minor charged with providing a false statement is the one who kept guard outside the building while the murder was committed.
No authority has disclosed the nature of the false evidence provided by the minor.
The Juvenile Court said that in addition to providing a false statement to the police, the minor had also provided a false statement in court in relation to the Afrasheem murder.
The minor is charged with reference to article 62, under article 63 of the Penal Code.
The State has charged Hussain Humaam of H. Lobby and Ali Shaan of H. Hicoast with first degree murder, for killing Dr Afrasheem Ali.
Both suspects have denied the charges and requested to appoint lawyers to represent them.
