Police forwards Aswad attack cases for prosecution

Police have forwarded the cases of two people accused of attacking Raajje TV journalist Ibrahim Waheed (Aswad) for prosecution.

Aswad was attacked with an iron rod while he was travelling on a motorcycle in Boduthakurufaanu Magu near Artificial Beach last February.

Police have revealed that the two people as Ahmed Wishan of M. Kerin Light Uthuruge, age 22, and Hassan Raihan of G. Fehimaage, age 19.

Police said that the cases were forwarded to the Prosecutor General’s Office (PG) yesterday, and that they have collected considerable evidence against the two accused.

Aswad is still seeking treatment in a hospital in Sri Lanka.
