President asks Parliament to approve two newly appointed Ministers and Attorney General

President has forwarded the names of the two newly appointed members to the cabinet, Minister of Gender, Family and Human Rights, Azima Shakoor, Minister of Transport and Communication Ameen Ibrahim and the newly appointed Attorney General Aishath Bisam to the Parliament seeking approval. President appointed the new members on the 10th of April, last Wednesday.

Parliament has since forwarded the names for review to the Committee on the Oversight of the Government.

The opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) holds majority of the government oversight committee with 6 MDP MPs and 5 MPs who support the current government.
