New Indian High Commissioner arrives in Maldives

The new Indian High Commissioner to the Maldives Mr. Rajeev Shahare has arrived in the Maldives.

The Indian High Commission in Male’ revealed today that Rajeev Shahare arrived last Thursday.

Before taking up his current tenure, Rajeev Shahare held the position of Joint Secretary in the Indian Ministry of External Affairs in charge of the West Asia & North Africa divisions.

Former Indian High Commissioner to the Maldives, D M Mulay flew back to India two weeks ago. Mulay's tenure had expired last year, but his stay was extended due to the political instability in the country.

Indian High Commission said that the new High Commissioner has not started office as his first two days in the country have fallen on the weekend.
