Police announce search for man suspected of assault

The police have for a second time announced that they are searching for a man suspected of group violence and assault.

The police have urged the public to share any information on Ihsaanuddin Rasheed, 30, of G. Masodige, with the police.

The police said that Ihsaanuddin Rasheed is suspected of breaking into a house in Male’ with a group at around 3.30 am on 13 March and assaulting two people who were sleeping in the house.

“Anyone who has information on Ihsaanuddin Rasheed should contact Maldives Police Service Serious and Organised Crime Department number 9631696 or Maldives Police Service hotline 3322111 and share your information,” the Police announcement stated.

The police said that Ihsaanuddin Rasheed is also suspected of drug-related crimes and several assault incidents.

The announcement also stated that the police will provide all necessary protection to the person who provides any information regarding the person in question. The police also thanked the public for their support in similar cases in the past.
