Person thought to be stabbed, had stabbed himself

Police have said that person who was thought to have been stabbed near Campus shop in Majeedhee Magu last night had in fact stabbed himself.

A Police media official said last night that the incident took place around 11:14 pm last night and that the 22 year old had sustained seven wounds to the left side of his arm. They said that the man holds a criminal record and that they are currently testing whether he was intoxicated at the time of the incident.

It is not yet clear why he chose to cut himself.

The young man was taken to the Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) by Policemen who had been patrolling the area.
