DRP congress gets postponed yet again

Dhivehi Rayyithinge Party (DRP) congress, scheduled to have been held on the last week of this month, has been postponed yet again for the middle of April 2013.

DRP spokesperson Ali Solih said today that the congress had to postponed due to lack of availability of a suitable venue. He said that they have now been informed by the Male’ City Council that Dharubaaruge will be available during the middle of April.

DRP has said that during the congress, elections will be held for two deputy leader posts which are currently vacant. They said that elections for youth wing leaders and women’s wing leaders will also be held during the congress.

DRP also said that amendments proposed to the party’s regulation will also be asked for vote.

The party had previously scheduled to hold a congress for last December, which was also postponed.
