More than 50,000 tourists visited the Maldives between January 28 and February 3, according to the latest weekly statistics released by the Ministry of Tourism.
The report shows that 251,261 tourists arrived during the period, an increase of 50,460 visitors, or 4.4 percent, compared to 200,801 arrivals recorded the previous week.
Resorts received the highest share of tourists, welcoming 171,669 visitors, which accounts for 68.3 percent of all arrivals. Guesthouses followed with 67,433 visitors (26.8 percent), while 6,670 tourists stayed in Maldivian hotels (2.7 percent).
Russia continues to lead as the top source market. However, the United Kingdom has climbed from fourth to second place, while Germany has moved from fifth to third.
Arrivals from Italy and China declined compared to the previous week. Italy, which previously held 10.5 percent of the market, now stands at 9 percent in fourth place. China, which was third with 9.2 percent, has dropped to fifth with 8 percent.
A record 10,253 tourists arrived in the Maldives on Tuesday alone.
The Maldives recorded a historic 10,253 arrivals on 1 February 2026, officially breaking the previous single-day record of 10,213 from 10 February 2024.

There are currently 179 resorts operating across 19 atolls, and the government has forecast 2.4 million tourist arrivals for this year.
