Maldives’ Huraa Community Club defeats Uzbekistan’s Humo VC in CAVA Women’s League 2026 to secure the club’s first international win on February 4, 2026.
Maldives’ Huraa Community Club has defeated Uzbekistan’s Humo VC in Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA) Women’s League 2026 on Wednesday night to secure the club’s first international win.
Huraa defeated Humo in three straight sets: first set 26-24 and both second and third sets 25-20.
The Huraa team consists of four talented foreign players along with skilled local players. Under the guidance of coach Mohamed Nadheem, the team delivered an outstanding performance in the match, which marked the second in the competition.
Notably, Humo is the runner-up team in the CAVA Club League held in the Maldives in 2024.
The first match in the competition was played on Wednesday evening, where Kazakhstan’s Turan VC defeated Sri Lanka’s Hirdaramani SC.
Turan defeated Hirdaramani in three straight sets: first set 25-11, second set 25-8 and third set 25-20.
CAVA Women’s League 2026, which is being held in the Maldives, is competed by seven teams from six countries, including two teams from the Maldives.
The teams have been divided into two groups. Group A comprises of Maldives’ WAMCO, Sri Lanka’s Hirdaramani SC and Kazakhstan’s Turan VC. Group B comprises of Maldives’ Huraa C, Iran’s Foolad MS, Uzbekistan’s Humo VC and Nepal’s Police Club.
The best two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals, where the two teams which face defeat will receive bronze medals. The final match will be held at 20:30pm on February 10th.
Tickets for matches held at the Social Centre are priced at MVR 25. Ticket sales will open one hour prior to each match at the ticketing booth set up at the Social Centre.
