The Maldives Sports Awards will be held next month, marking the return of the country’s most prestigious sports recognition ceremony after a two‑year pause.
The “Maldives Sports Awards 2025” is scheduled for February 15 at the Youth Center Hall.
Sports associations have been invited to submit nominations across 11 categories, including:
Sportsman / Sportswoman of the Year (Men / Women)
Para Sportsman / Para Sportswoman of the Year (Men / Women)
Sports Journalist of the Year
Media of the Year (Online / Broadcasting)
Sports Medic of the Year
Technical Official of the Year (Male / Female)
Coach of the Year (Male / Female)
Young Sportsman / Young Sportswoman of the Year (Men / Women)
Sports Visual Artist of the Year
Para Sportsman / Para Sportswoman of the Year – Olympic / Non‑Olympic (Men / Women)
Sportsman / Sportswoman of the Year – Olympic / Non‑Olympic (Men / Women)
At the last edition of the awards, table tennis star Fatimath Dheema Ali was named Sportswoman of the Year, while Mohamed Shaffan Ismail of the national men’s table tennis team won Sportsman of the Year.
The Maldives Sports Awards are widely regarded as the nation’s top platform for honoring athletes, coaches, officials, and contributors who have shaped Maldivian sports.
