Tree Top Hospital has introduced Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy as part of its dermaesthetic services, offering new treatment options for hair loss and acne scarring.
PRP therapy is a modern, drug-free procedure that uses the patient’s own blood to stimulate healing and regeneration. The hospital said the treatment involves extracting and concentrating platelets, which are rich in growth factors, to promote cellular repair, collagen production, and tissue regeneration.
PRP services now available
PRP for hair loss: Strengthens hair follicles, reduces breakage, and improves hair thickness and density.
PRP for acne scars: Targets scarring on the face and body, promoting smoother and healthier skin.
Tree Top Hospital noted that PRP therapy is especially effective for stress-related shedding, traction alopecia, and post-transplant hair regrowth. Visible results typically appear within three to six months.

Prior to its dermaesthetic rollout, Tree Top Hospital had already been offering PRP injections for joint conditions such as osteoarthritis, tendonitis, and ligament injuries. The treatment helps reduce inflammation, accelerate healing, and improve joint function.
The hospital said the launch of PRP therapy reflects its ongoing commitment to introducing advanced treatments that reduce the need for Maldivians to seek care abroad.
