Child health services will begin on Sunday at the Urban Primary Health Care Centre in Maafannu, Male’, the Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) announced on Saturday evening.
The centre, which opened last month, will offer services including vitamin A supplementation, growth monitoring, and infant feeding counselling. These services will be available Sunday to Thursday, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., and on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m..
Vaccination services will also be provided at the clinic, but only by appointment.
The Urban Clinic is located in the Coral Boulevard building, originally developed near Rasfannu Beach during the administration of former President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom. It was officially opened on November 19 by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.

Speaking at the inauguration, Male’ Hospitals Group CEO Ibrahim Abdul Razzaq Haleem said the centre aims to make health services more accessible to the public.
“The centre will provide general practitioner services to a wide range of people. Patients will be assessed by trained GPs, and referred to specialists when needed,” Haleem said.
He added that the clinic’s system is designed to streamline referrals and improve access to specialist care.
The government plans to open six general practice clinics in the capital region, including three more in Male’ and one in Hulhumale’.
