MDP to hold parliamentary group elections on 28th of this month

Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has announced that it will hold elections to elect a leader and deputy leaders for its parliamentary group on the 28th of March 2013.

The elections will see members elected to the post of leader and two deputy leaders of the parliamentary group, as well as three members as parliament whips. Members will also be elected for the posts of secretary general and deputy secretary general of the parliamentary group.

Deadline for the submission of applications end on the 15th of this month.

Hinnavaru MP Ibrahim Mohamed Solih currently holds the position of MDP parliamentary group leader. The current and deputies are Thoddoo MP Ali Waheed and Hithadhoo-North MP Mohamed Aslam.

MDP parliamentary group elections are held yearly.
