Maldives defeated Afghanistan in straight sets in the Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA) Women’s Cup 2025 on Saturday, securing their second win of the tournament.
Maldives, who also beat Bangladesh in straight sets in their opening match, continued their strong form with a 25–20, 25–13, 25–12 victory over Afghanistan.
The match showed clear improvements from the opener, with setter Juzan Zareer delivering standout serves and the team’s younger players putting in confident performances.
The win places Maldives level on points with Kyrgyzstan, who also recorded straight‑set wins against Afghanistan and Bangladesh. The two teams will face each other on Monday night in the final match of the league round, which will determine the top spot.
