Dr. Naila wins Fertility Support Community’s first patient care award

Fertility Support Community (FSC) has bestowed its first ‘Patient Care Award’ on Dr. Naila Ibrahim Mohamed Didi, the first Maldivian obstetrician and gynecologist.

The award was presented to Dr. Naila by Health Minister Abdulla Nazim during FSC’s Gala Night held at Meeruma Hall on Monday night.

Dr. Naila is a co-founder of Society of Health Education (SHE) and has extensive experience in treating women’s health and reproductive health.

The Gala Night also saw the launching FSC’s second project, Patient Care Awards (PCA) Maldives and organization’s magazine. FCS aims to provide accurate health-related information to patients and the community through the magazine.

During the Gala Night, FSC also entered into an agreement with Milan Specialty Hospital in India to facilitate IVF treatment for a couple next year.

The agreement was signed by FSC’s founder and president Asha Hussain and Milan Specialty Hospital’s Managing Director Anjali Ajaikumar.

Speaking at the Gala Night, Asha acknowledged the government’s efforts to support couples facing fertility challenges in the Maldives and expressed her gratitude for these initiatives.

FSC was founded in January 2021 to raise public awareness regarding fertility issues and the available treatment options, and provide psychological support to people with fertility issues.
