Two people were injured in an accident on the Sinamale Bridge on Monday evening, and Home Minister Ali Ihusaan sent them to the hospital in his official car.

Police said they received a call at 18:35 after two motorcycles collided on the bridge. Two men were injured in the accident and are being treated at Hulhumale' Hospital. The injured were taken to hospital in the minister’s car, police confirmed, adding that Minister Ihusaan had provided assistance at the scene.

One person sustained a facial injury, while both men suffered various other injuries to their bodies. Their motorcycles were also damaged in the collision.

A video posted on social media shows Minister Ihusaan instructing one of the injured men to get into his car, while another person is seen helping the man inside.

It is noteworthy that Ihusaan has previously assisted in another public emergency. In November 2023, a man who suffered a stroke at the Himmafushi Drug Rehabilitation Center was taken to hospital in the minister’s car.

The Home Ministry told Sun that Ihusaan was returning from K. Himmafushi on November 28 when the speedboat he was traveling in also carried a patient who had suffered a stroke. The boat arrived in Male' early that evening, but the ambulance had not yet arrived. The patient was then transported to the hospital in Ihusaan’s official car, after which the minister walked home.
