Joint Secretary in the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, Shri Rajeev Shahare has been appointed as the next High Commissioner of India to the Maldives.
The Indian Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement that he is expected to take up his assignment shortly.
Current High Commissioner of India to the Maldives, D M Mulay’s tenure was up last year. His stay in Maldives was extended due to the political turmoil in the country.
India has not stated when Mulay is expected to leave or when Shahare will to arrive in the Maldives.
Sun is informed that Mulay has been designated as the Consul General of India, New York, USA.
