Ooredoo Maldives has joined the global “Official Apology Statement” trend, becoming the first local brand to embrace the playful format that’s gone viral across social media.

The trend humorously mimics formal corporate apologies and has been adopted by brands worldwide to creatively engage their audiences. Ooredoo used the format to address the overwhelming demand for this year’s Fun Run kits, which sold out faster than expected.

In its light-hearted post, Ooredoo thanked customers for their enthusiasm and apologized to those who couldn’t secure a kit before registration closed. The post quickly gained traction online, sparking positive reactions from Fun Run fans across the country.

“The love for Ooredoo Fun Run this year has been incredible,” said Hussain Niyaz, Chief Commercial Officer. “The apology trend gave us a fun, relatable way to communicate with our community while keeping the excitement alive.”

Due to popular demand, Ooredoo launched a flash sale for Fun Run kits at 14.00 on Tuesday, giving customers another chance to join the event.

The Ooredoo Fun Run remains one of the Maldives’ most anticipated community events, featuring foam parties, color throws, inflatables, and festive activities for families and friends.

Ooredoo’s participation in the trend reflects its commitment to creative digital engagement and building a fun, open, and connected brand presence online.
