Vice President of Chamber of Commerce stabbed

Vice President of the Maldives National Chamber of Commerce and Industries Ismail Asif has been stabbed at around 3.30pm today. He is currently being treated for his injuries at ADK Hospital.

President of the National Chamber of Commerce Ahmed Adheeb who was at ADK to assist Asif, said that Asif was attacked by two people on a motorbike while he was waiting outside Juwey’s Café on Buruzu Magu. According to Adheeb, they stabbed him in the back and disappeared.

Adheeb also said that Asif’s condition is not serious, and that he is being treated at the emergency room at ADK Hospital.

The Police team who arrived at ADK Hospital following the incident said that the identities of the people who stabbed Asif are not known, and that they are working on this case.
