Two women injured in Sinamale' Bridge collision

Two local women were injured when a car collided with a motorcycle on the Sinamale' Bridge late Monday night.

According to police, the accident occurred at 22:17 on the Hulhumale' side of the bridge. The motorcycle was reportedly struck from behind by the car. Both women on the motorcycle were taken to Hulhumale' Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said the driver of the car has had their license withheld and that an investigation is underway. A video of the after-scene of the accident has been shared on social media.

The Sinamale' Bridge has seen several serious accidents in recent years, some resulting in fatalities. According to police statistics, traffic accidents are the second most commonly reported incidents after theft. So far this year, 2,434 accidents have been reported to Police.
