As in previous years, DMRR 2025 was dedicated to protecting children from violence and domestic abuse. Dhiraagu pledged MVR 200,000 to the top five endorsed NGOs nominated by participants, with MVR 100 from each registration fee and 100% of special bib sales proceeds also distributed among child protection organizations.
The DMRR is the only Maldivian race listed on the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) World Running calendar, and features a World Athletics-certified route, reinforcing its status as a globally recognized event.
Hydration stations were placed every kilometer, and the race route included loops for each category, with start/finish lines at Central Park. Beyond the competition, the event offered live entertainment, food stalls, and surprise activations along the 5K route, turning the race into a full-day community celebration.
