The Maldives’ largest running event, the Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race (DMRR) 2025, is set to take place this Friday, October 24, at Hulhumalé Central Park, with over 4,500 runners expected to participate.

The race, which includes both local and international athletes, is the country’s first and only international run listed in the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) World Running calendar. It features a World Athletics-certified route.

Race timings are as follows:

  • Half Marathon: 02:30 hrs

  • 10K Race: 05:30 hrs

  • 5K Race: 16:30 hrs

Beyond the competitive spirit, DMRR 2025 will offer a vibrant atmosphere with food stalls, entertainment, and a surprise activation along the 5K route to energize participants and spectators alike.

This year’s event continues Dhiraagu’s longstanding commitment to child protection. The race will serve as a platform for NGOs to advocate for children’s rights and raise funds for related initiatives.

Dhiraagu will contribute MVR 200,000 to the top five endorsed NGOs nominated by participants during registration. Additionally, MVR 100 from each registration and all proceeds from special bib number sales will be equally distributed among the endorsed partner NGOs.

Updates and highlights from the event will be shared across Dhiraagu’s social media platforms.
