The 21st Bank of Maldives (BML) Interschool Swimming Competition – which saw the participation of over 300 students – has wrapped up.
The 21st BML Interschool Swimming Competition took place from October 11-16 at the swimming pool at the Hulhumale’ Mini Sports Complex.
This year’s tournament saw 365 students – 142 female students and 223 male students - from 18 schools contest for medals.
The students, aged 12-18, competed for medals in freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly stroke races.
The students who won medals in the competition were presented with their awards during a ceremony held on Saturday.
Ghiyasuddin International School was crowned the champions of Juniors category, while Center for Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) Hulhumale’ placed first in the Senior category.
BML has been an exclusive partner for the Maldives Swimming Association since 2016, providing financial assistance to boost and expand swimming over the years. This year, the national bank extended the partnership for another three years – in a move that it said demonstrates the bank’s commitment to supporting the development of sports across the Maldives.
