EC walk-in interview well received, over 170 people attended

The Election Commission (EC) is receiving an exceptional response to its walk-in interview for recruitment of staff for local council and Women's Development Committee (WDC) elections next April, with over 170 candidates attending so far, the commission said on Saturday.

EC on Wednesday announced that it would conduct a walk-in interview this weekend to recruit officials for the upcoming council elections.

Interviews were conducted at Kalaafaanu School on Friday in Male’ and Kaamil-Didi Primary School (KPS) in Hulhumale' on Saturday.

The Election Commission said the interview will continue till 22:00 on Saturday evening.

The EC said more than 100 people attended the walk-in interview held at Kalaafaanu School from 16:00 to 22:00 on Friday. Most of them are between the ages of 18 and 25, the commission said. The highest number of applications were for officers and senior officers.

More than 70 people attended the interview at KPS on Saturday, the commission said.

According to EC, those attending the walk-in interview will be required to bring their ID cards, educational certificates and copies of their CVs.

In an announcement on Wednesday, the Election Commission said the fields of recruitment include human resource administration, media, public relations, IT, finance and law. The positions they listed are:

• Senior Officer

• Trainees

• Logistics Officer

• Assistant Logistics Officer

• Photographer

• Office Assistant

• Graphics Designer

• Tech Officer

• Assistant Master Trainer

• Security Officer

• Cleaner

• Maintenance Officer

• Driver

• Content Creator

It is noteworthy that the Election Commission recruits the staff required for the work of the Commission on the occasion of every election.
