Sri Lankan champions the Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLP) secured an easy win on Monday against Maldives’ Club HDC in the CAVA Men’s Champions League.
The CAVA Men’s Champions League – the biggest men’s club volleyball competition in central Asia – is taking place at the Social Center Male’ from July 17-23.
On Monday night, SLP won its match against HDC in three straight sets of 25-21, 25-23, and 25-15.
HDC, which has already lost hopes of advancing to the final, performed poorly in the match.
HDC remains at the bottom of the table with zero points, while SLP is fourth with 6 points.
On top of the table is Kyrgyzstan champions Bishkek with 11 points, followed by Kazakh champions Zhaiyk VC with 10 points, and Nepalese champions Help Nepal (HNP) with 8 points.
It is these three clubs that now have any chances of advancing to the final.
