Liverpool reps assess state of Male’ City’s football stadiums

Representatives from Liverpool FC tours football stadiums in Maldivian capital, Male’ to assess their state.

Representatives from Liverpool FC currently visiting the Maldives has toured football stadiums in Maldivian capital, Male’, and assed their state as part discussions to established a Liverpool football academy in the Maldives.

The Liverpool FC representatives who participated in the tour are Vice President of Partnerships David Paul and Director of Global Partnership Development Alex Fraser.

They were accompanied by Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC)’s Ibrahim Shiuree and State Minister for Sports Ibrahim Amir.

In March, Liverpool FC - currently ranked the top club in the English Football League – signed a multi-year global partnership with the MMPRC, making it the club’s official tourist destination partner.

Liverpool FC has planned a wide range of activities in the Maldives under the partnership. Discussions have also taken place regarding the development of football players and the establishment of a football club academy in the Maldives.

MMPRC said the purpose of the academy will be to develop local talents and pave the way for international opportunities.

A major co-branded campaign between MMPRC and Liverpool FC was launched by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu during a visit to the UK on April 3rd to promote Maldives as a tourist destination with the involvement of the club’s players and officials.
