Indian host Kettan Singh and band Shivoham in Maldives for 2ofus’ concert

Battle of the Bands International 2025’s host, Kettan Singh, and Indian fusion band, Shivoham, have arrived in the Maldives for the much anticipated concert of Maldivian band, 2ofus, in Male’.

Fresh from their success at the latest edition of the music competition in India, the five-member 2ofus is set to light up the Olympus Cinema tonight from 20:00pm to 12:00am.

The concert in Male’ will mark the first-ever music show with international artists opening for a Maldivian band. It is also the most expensive concert being held by a local artist to date.

The international opening acts will include Shraddha Pandit and Raja Hassan; two main judges of 'Battle of the Bands International', a reality show by India’s state-owned public television broadcaster, Doordarshan, where incredible bands from all over the world compete in a music-off.

The international opening acts will also include Shruti Pathak and Shivoham, and the concert will also feature popular Maldivian artists Bokitoz and Mamdhooh (Harubee Mandey).

The concert will be hosted by Kettan.

In an interview to SSTV following his arrival in the Maldives, Kettan said it was his first time in the Maldives, adding he has only seen the Maldives previously through television, Youtube or photos taken by Indian celebrities vacationing in the Maldives.

“See, I am very excited,” he expressed.

When questioned regarding his costume for the concert, Kettan revealed that he has always designed his own costumes.

“Definitely there will be a lot of black,” he hinted.

According to Kettan, his favorite performance of 2ofus in Battle of the Bands competition is their second performance, ‘Rashu Mudhimah Kukulhu Nudhee’. He particularly praised the band’s leader and vocalist, Ahmed Adhuham (Adhoo), for his exceptional talent. In this regard, he noted that Adhuham’s imitation of bird sounds during the performance—used to portray the natural beauty of the Maldives—left a strong impression on him.

Apart from Kettan and Shivoham, Battle of the Bands International 2025’s producer and director Shruti Anindita Verma also arrived in the Maldive son Wednesday.

Speaking with SSTV, Shruti said Adhoo and the whole 2ofus band are almost like family to her. As such, she said her arrival in the Maldives feels almost like visiting family.

“We have seen strong performances from 2ofus in a foreign land. They rock! Surely, they will be much stronger in their homeland,” she added.

Shruti described her time with 2ofus – spanning over a month – as a period filled with happiness and laughter. The band’s departure brought everyone to tears, she added.

“That is the relationship with them. I always said to Adhoo that we should meet again soon, but I never expected it to be this soon,” she said.

Shruti hyped up the viewers for the concert, adding that there will be many pleasant surprises.

“Just wait and watch,” she added.

Shruti also spoke regarding 2ofus’ performances in Battle of the Bands. She noted that she had not known the band prior to their participation in the competition and as such, each performance they delivered in the competition was a surprise of another level.

She expressed anticipation of the level of performance 2ofus will be showcasing this time around.

“Adhoo and 2ofus, not only did they win in competition, by they have also won the hearts of the people. Battle of Bands became this famous because of them,” she said.

The ticket prices of the 2ofus concert have been slashed with sponsors coming aboard to fund majority of the expenses.

In this regard, platinum tickets are priced at MVR 1,000, gold at MVR 500 and bronze at MVR 250.
