The internationally acclaimed sport fishing expert and founder of Fly Zone Fishing has traveled to six continents and participated in some of the most prestigious tournaments across the globe. As the founder of Fly Zone Fishing and co-creator of the Blue Marlin World Cup—the world’s only international blue marlin tournament—Navarro has continually shown a remarkable talent for bringing together anglers and audiences through creative media and event production. His deep knowledge and enthusiasm make him an ideal ambassador to showcase the Maldives’ largely unexplored potential in the world of sport fishing.

To kick off the collaboration, Fly Navarro will visit the Maldives to participate in and support the upcoming Burunuboma Global Sport Fishing Tournament, scheduled between May 2nd to 4th, 2025. This high-profile event will draw elite anglers from around the world to the Maldives’ unspoiled waters, where they’ll target marlin, sailfish, and other big game species. In alignment with the Maldives’ growing focus on sustainable marine tourism and conservation, Navarro will also collaborate with local stakeholders to champion responsible fishing practices.

As Global Ambassador, Fly Navarro will play a key role in raising the Maldives’ profile within the sport fishing and maritime tourism sectors. Through targeted media campaigns, global partnerships, and grassroots initiatives, he will help position the Maldives as a premier destination for sustainable sport fishing. His appointment represents a significant step forward in the nation's effort to become a global leader in eco-conscious marine tourism.
