Fire breaks out at Maaveyo Magu shop

Fire broke out at a shop located in Maaveyo Magu, Male’ City on Friday evening.

The fire was reported from a shop called “Farmer’s Market”.

According to Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF), the incident occurred due to an electrical malfunction. The resulting fire had damaged the items placed on the shelves close to the electrical meter board.

A video clip of the incident had circulated on social media as well, that showed some of the items on the shelves – including fruits – had caught fire following the electrical fault. The video clip also showed an individual attempting to extinguish the fire.
