Vikram Sinha, former CEO of Ooredoo Maldives has been re-elected to the Ooredoo Maldives Board

Vikram Sinha, former CEO of Ooredoo Maldives has been re-elected to the Board of Directors of Ooredoo Maldives, representing the majority shareholder, Wataniya International FZ-LLC, with George Challenor Bowring and Moza Mohamed Darwish. 

Mr. Sinha’s association with Ooredoo Maldives began in 2014 when he was appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO). During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in enhancing the company’s market presence and operational efficiency. After his role as CEO, he was elected as a member of the Board of Directors, continuing to contribute his expertise to the company’s strategic direction.  

Vikram Sinha played a pivotal role in driving the digital transformation of the Maldives. Under his leadership, Ooredoo Maldives has accelerated its efforts to build a truly Digital Maldives, leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as Fixed broadband, Mobile Number Portability and Fintech solutions to enhance connectivity and empower communities. His strategic focus on innovation and digital inclusion has helped bridge the digital divide, bringing high-speed internet and smart solutions to even the most remote islands. 

Beyond the Maldives, Mr. Sinha has been instrumental in driving artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives at Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison in Indonesia. Appointed as President Director and CEO in December 2021, he has led the company’s transformation into an AI-centric telecommunications entity. Under his leadership, Indosat has embarked on several key AI projects. 

Ooredoo Maldives hopes that under his leadership, Maldives will be able to leap into new technologies including AI.
