Violent altercation among migrants at Artificial Beach; action to be taken

Controller General of Immigration Shamman Waheed states action will be against the migrants involved in a violation altercation at Artificial Beach on Friday evening.

Police said a violent altercation among a group of people at Artificial Beach was reported to the authority at approximately 18:22pm this evening.

Although no arrests have been made in connection to the incident, Police state the case is under investigation.

Commenting on the matter, Controller General Shamman said an Immigration taskforce was probing into the violent altercation by a group of migrants at Artificial Beach on Friday evening – disrupting public order.

He affirmed that action would be taken against the migrants involved in the incident.

A video of the incident going viral on social media shows a group of people shouting and engaged in a violent altercation. Some people at the scene were attempting to stop them.
