Residential home in Fuvahmulah burns down in fire

Fire breaks out at residential home in Fuvahmulah City on December 3, 2024.

A residential home in Fuvahmulah City has burned down in a fire that broke out last night.

Abdulla Nasir, a member of Fuvahmulah City Council, told Sun that MNDF’s Fire and Rescue attended to the scene after a fire broke out at home in the City’s Miskiymagu district at approximately 21:55pm, adding the fire is believed to have started approximately 15 minutes earlier.

As per Nasir, the home had burned down beyond use by the time the fire was controlled.

Another member of Fuvahmulah Council told Sun that the home is the place of residence of seven individuals, however, no one was injured in the fire.

 

National Disaster Management Authoriity (NDMA) confirmed receiving information of the fire which broke at a home in Fuvahmulah City named ‘Shiva’. They added that individuals impacted by the fire have been relocated to safe areas.
