‘100 Hunaruverin’ program launched to increase skilled youth, women in Male’

Male’ City Council’s Women’s Development Committee (WDC) in collaboration with Maldives Polytechnic has launched a training program for youths and women under the name ‘100Hunaruverin ’.

As per the Council, training will be provided for participants in electrical equipment repair, handicrafts and sewing traditional Maldivian dresses.

This will pave the way for youths and women in Male’ to learn technical and traditional skills, added the Council.

All expenses incurred for the courses under the program will be overseen by WDC.

Although the agreement executed to conduct the program states it is a two-week program, Male’ City Council said similar programs will be conducted on a regular basis in the future.

The Council said this would mark a pivotal step forward in sustainable training opportunities for youths and women in Male’ area – subsequently increasing job opportunities.
